Originally drafted to Carlton from the Oakleigh Chargers in 1998, Prender initially struggled with a succession of injuries. Given a second chance by the Blues when promoted from their rookie list in 2001, he has been one of Carlton’s most improved players.

Tall, athletic and a consummate team player, Ian played every game for Carlton , until a shoulder injury in round 17 ended his 2004 season. A versatile utility, he remains a key player in Carlton ’s quest to again dominate the competition.
