Austin was picked up at pick 66 for Essendon in the 2005 National Draft, some may say as a bargain as the young gun from Caloundra in Queensland was named full-back in the All Australian team and has real pace whilst standing at 193cm.

Austin comes from a Rugby background, but his time spent in Melbourne before moving to Queensland meant that his true love was always AFL footy. An intelligent young man, he will continue his studies in exercise science and hopes one day to become a physio.
