Originally from Perth, Joel is a tall forward who has tremendous goal sense. For a player of his size, Joel is impressively agile and possesses great endurance, managing to achieve 15.1 in the beep test at the WA screening.

Houghton was a great key position selection and at 194cm, the Perth junior boasts the endurance of a midfielder.

A WA under 18 Representative, Joel can mark well on the lead and his ability to present up the ground will be a major asset to the Fremantle Football Club.
