Steven Browne

D.O.B:
1 February 1989
Club:
Carlton
Honours:
2007 NAB AFL Draft Pick No. 36
2008 AFL Debut

Steven is a small midfielder/defender who played for West Perth (Seniors) in the WAFL after debuting in round 17 in 2007. Steven was named best on ground with 29 disposals and ten marks in round 18, which was only his second game for the season. At the 2007 NAB AFL Draft Camp, Steven produced strong results recording 13.8 in the beep test and a 3 second result in the 20 metre sprint.

Steven showed promise after making his AFL debut against Adelaide in round six for the 2008 season and in 2009, Steven played 7 AFL senior games. The emerging Carlton utility took plenty of confidence from pushing ladder leader St Kilda during their round 12 clash, having racked up 18 touches and earned himself a plaudits from coach Brett Ratten.

Browne has good overhead skills for his size and has a fine ability to read the play during a game. He effectively attacks the opposition head on with his pace and has accurate foot skills, which should see him become a regular senior player for the Carlton Football Club.
