Geelong used their first selection (number 32 overall) in the 2004 National Draft to select Brent Prismall, a standout midfielder with strong endurance and a penetrating kick. Brent earned Victorian Metro selection at U18 level in 2004 and was given the number 32 jumper, made famous by Garry Hocking.

Brent took a leap forward in his development in 2006, making his senior debut for the Cats in round 5 against Sydney, before returning in the latter part of that year playing seven of the Cats last nine games and winning Geelong’s Best First Year Player Award.

In 2007, Brent managed 5 games, his best being a 3 goal performance against Melbourne. He averaged just under 18 possessions in those games, but his season was interrupted by a broken wrist. He returned for the VFL finals and was an emergency in Geelong’s senior Grand Final side.

Brent's form in 2008 was outstanding at times and he finally pushed his way into the senior side but unfortunately injured his knee in the Cats' ill-fated finals series. It was at this time that Brent thought it was right to move on and an opportunity arose at the Essendon Football Club.

Prismall returned from injury towards the second half of the 2009 season for the Bombers and enjoyed an injury free return, hitting a somewhat rich vein of form. He played 13 games for the club and was regular contributor to the squad.
